• 2000: Python 2.0 introduced list comprehensions and a cycle-detecting garbage collector.
• 2008: Python 3.0 released — a major, backwards-incompatible overhaul to clean up the language's design.
• 2020: Python 2 officially reaches end-of-life, cementing Python 3 as the standard.
• Today: Python is one of the most widely used languages in the world, dominant in web development, data science, AI/ML, and automation.
